I 311 sono una storica alternative-rock band statunitense (precisamente del Nebraska), nata alla fine degli anni 80.
Il loro suono è molto particolare, a volte funk-rock, a volte punk-rock, ska, raggae... Furono tra le prime band ad unire dj, rap e metal.
Nel corso degli anni la band ha avuto un successo altalenante, ma il fatto di vendite, il punto massimo è stato raggiunto con l'uscita dell'album omonimo del 1995.
Alla discografia ufficiale vanno aggiunti 2 album autoprodotti (Dammit! e Unity), precedenti all'uscita di "Music" del 1993, un live e 4 compilation.
