I Lostprophets sono un gruppo numetal/alternative rock proveniente dal Galles.
Dopo numerosi ep, l'esordio sulla lunga distanza avviene nel 2000. Thefakesoundofprogress, album d'esordio, ottiene un buon successo, cosi' come gli album seguenti: Start Something e Liberation Salvation vendono molte copie e raggiungono le prime posizioni delle chart inglesi (il successo oltreoceano non é cosi' netto e deciso).
Nel 2010 viene rilasciato l'elbum "The betrayed", che tocca il terzo posto nelle classifiche di vendita UK. Un nuovo release é atteso per l'autunno del 2011.
I generi "toccati" dalla band sono numerosi: principalmente numetal, in parte hard-rock, molto alternative rock... e post-grunge.
