I Mr.Bungle sono una band experimental-rock / avant-garde metal proveniente dalla North Carolina.
Il gruppo nacque nel 1985 per mano di Mike Patton (Faith no More, Fantomas) e Trevor Dunn e si separo' definitivamente nel 2004, dopo soli 3 album pubblicati in quasi 20 anni di carriera.
I Mr.Bungle sono sempre rimasti nella penombra nonostante abbiano subito firmato per un'importante casa discografica come la Warner Bros. Records. Il successo è stato raggiunto solo ed esclusivamente per la qualità e particolarità della musica suonata, spesso un insieme di generi musicali e strumenti, anche all'interno dello stesso brano.
L'ultimo album è "California", uscito nel 1999, che è uno degli ultimi album in cui è possibile sentire la voce "pulita" del genio Patton.
