Nati nel 1989 per iniziativa del chitarrista Rich Ward, gli Stuck Mojo sono tra le piu' famose band ad aver unito metal e hip-hop.
Come indicato nel loro sito, la band ha provato ad unire i suoni metal tipicamente "southern", con il cantato hip-hop del loro frontman.
Tra le principali fonti di ispirazione gli Stuck Mojo citano gruppi come i Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith no More , Run DMC e Black Sabbath.
L'album di esordio, Snappin' Necks, fu accolto in modo differente dal pubblico: innovativo per alcuni, assurdo e sconclusionato per altri. Di certo è stato una pietra fondamentale nella costruzione della "cattedrale" del rock.
Dopo 7 album, nel 2001 la band lascia l'etichetta Century Media e decide di separarsi.
Nel 2005 , dopo 4 anni dedicati ai propri progetti personali (Fozzy, Sick Speed), Rich Ward decise di riformare la band, la quale comincio' un lungo tour.
Dopo mesi di tour e lavoro in studio, nel gennaio del 2007 usci' il primo album successivo alla reunion, autoprodotto, dal titolo "Southern born killers".
L'ultimo album pubblicato (con l'etichetta Napalm) risale alla fine del 2008, e il suo titolo è "The great revival".
