I Dredg sono una band experimental rock / progressive rock originaria della California.
La band ha una formazione classica formata da 4 componenti, voce, basso, chitarra e batteria (anche se i quattro membri si cimentano nell'uso di sintetizzatori, organo ed altro).
L'album d'esordio, Leitmotif , è stato rilasciato in maniera indipendente nel 1998. Il primo album ad essere uscito sotto una Major (la interscope) è il seguente "El Cielo".
Attualmente gli album in studio sono 5, l'ultimo dei quali (Chuckles and Mr.Squeezy) è uscito nel maggio del 2011.
