Gli Staind sono una band nu-metal/alternative-metal (a volte sono considerati post-grunge) statunitense, di Springfield.
Fin dalla nascita del gruppo, gli Staind sono sempre stati formati dagli stessi componenti, fino a quest'anno (2011), quando il batterista originario John Wysocki ha abbandonato la band (nonostante sia stato annunciata l'uscita del nuovo disco per il 13 settembre).
Il vero successo degli Staind giunse grazie ai singoli "It's been awhile" e "Outside", tratti da "Break the cycle" , che vendette oltre 7 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo.
L'album omonimo "Staind" sarà il settimo, e dovrebbe riportare il sound degli Staind a quello piu' grezzo dei primi 2 release, "Tormented" e "Dysfunction".
